The Barber of Seville

Summary
The Barber of Seville is a show about a group of people living in Seville, Spain. It is a straight play and the leading lady wants to escape the clutches of the doctor she works for. She falls in love with a soldier whom she has been writing letters to for a while now. The barber helps bring the two together through mischief and the women is able to live her life outside of her capturer's walls.

My goal as the sound designer for this show was to help the audience believe the sound effects were really happening on stage. It was minimal sounds but it was fun to create effects that were more realistic than in my past designs. This show was from the summer of 2016.
Sound Effects
During one of the scenes, the barber "breaks" many of the plates in a cabinet that was off stage. I placed a speaker on the side of the stage he was on which helped create an atmosphere for the effect.
Before Act III, there is a thunderstorm that is suppose to set the atmosphere. I created the storm by recording rain and adding thunder overtop of it. Throughout the scene it played quietly in the background to help create the effect of the storm.
